Q.1 What is the work you are responsible for and what do you find rewarding about it?

The sense of satisfaction when finding answers within the puzzle‑like challenges

I am involved in the design and development of automotive LSIs. It has been about three years since I joined Seedea, and while I continue working as an engineer, I also serve as an assistant to the project leader. In the past, I worked on development and evaluation of LSIs for digital cameras as well as automotive LSIs. Because I put my full effort into each project, I always feel a strong sense of relief and accomplishment when one is completed. There are many moments when I find the work rewarding, but the greatest is when I see news reports on TV announcing the release of a product equipped with an LSI I helped develop. Working in an environment where I can constantly engage with new technologies also keeps my curiosity as an engineer alive. As many of my senior colleagues say, this job has a puzzle-like appeal. When results turn out as expected, or when I manage to identify the optimal approach after working through a problem with no obvious answer, the sense of achievement is indescribable.

Q.2 Can you tell us what led you to change careers, and what do you find appealing about your workplace?

A career change sparked by my interest in the semiconductor industry

I previously worked in electrical construction management within the construction industry. I decided to move into a completely new field because I had long been interested in the semiconductor industry Since I majored in electronic engineering at university, I had a general idea of what working with LSIs would involve. However, the actual tasks and workflows were very different from my previous job, and I struggled quite a bit at first. There are a number of senior veteran engineers at my workplace who have supported Japan's semiconductor industry. By observing their work up close and learning how they approach each task, I gradually became more comfortable in my role. Working together with veteran engineers under the shared focus of LSI development has been an extremely valuable experience. It is reassuring to know that when I encounter difficulties, I can rely on their guidance. I am continually impressed, and motivated, by how they not only solve problems through trial and error but also share their accumulated expertise and standardize it for the benefit of clients and junior colleagues.

Q.3 What are your future goals?

Strengthening my technical skills by making use of the opportunities Seedea provides

My first goal is to become an engineer who can carry out my work independently, without relying on others. From there, I hope to grow into someone who, like my senior colleagues, can mentor junior members and become a person others can depend on. To do that, I believe it is important not only to deepen the knowledge required for my current responsibilities but also to build a broad understanding of semiconductors as a whole. At Seedea, I have opportunities to work on many different projects. Each time I join a new one, I expand my technical abilities by applying what I have learned previously. Being able to develop my skills through such a wide variety of projects is one of Seedea’s distinctive strengths. I want to continue growing by making the most of the opportunities Seedea provides.
